If you are looking for free birds, then you have come to the wrong place. Adoption fees and donations are how we run the sanctuary. Adoption fees are based on how much time and work it takes to rehabilitate a bird, vet fees, travel costs (we cover the entire Pacific Northwest), if we have to buy a bird to save it's life, and any other expenses incurred. Don't forget, birds also need an avian vet - a specialist. If you cannot afford the adoption fees or vet fees, perhaps you shouldn't own a bird. Our application is stringent, as all parrot rescue organizations are only looking out for what is in the best interest of those birds that have already been bounced around a time, or two, or three, or more. If you cannot fill out the application, then we highly doubt you will be able to fulfill a life long commitment to a bird! We are not hard to work with if you are sincere and willing to work a little yourself. Please make sure you read "A Parrot's Bill of Rights" before you ever consider adopting a bird. If you can live up to the "Bill of Rights", then please come adopt one of these magnificent creatures. You will have one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
Not all birds make it to this page. We have several applications already on file. If you are interested in adoption, please send your application in as soon as possible. We try our hardest to match the right bird with the right family so that the adoption is successful for both bird and family.
